It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our Dad.
He was a loving husband, grandfather, brother, brother in-law and dear friend. Tim was the son of the late Robert & Edna (MacFarlane) Johnston. He was born May 25, 1948 in New Glasgow. He loved the great outdoors, hunting, fishing and raising his chickens in his little haven (the barn). He also spent many hours there building and fixing things with his dear friend Mac.
He was a great hockey player, playing for the Pictou Maripacs. He also was an avid golfer winning many championships. Montreal Canadiens, there was no other hockey team in Tim’s eyes.
Tim was employed at Ferguson’s Industries until they closed in 1994, and then worked at several different jobs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharleen (Winchester), his daughters, Robyn (Charlie); Kyla (Joey); Jill (Darcy) & Bonnie, all of Pictou. Tim was lovingly known as Papa to his seven grandsons, Tyson, Dustin, Tanner, Timmy, Dylan, Landon, Brayden and his one and only granddaughter Brittany. He is also survived by his sisters, Deborah, Dorothy, Dawn and brothers, Kyle, Kelly, Wayne & Dana, all of Pictou.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Tracy and his infant daughter. At his request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service to be held at the Stella Maris Parish, Wednesday Dec. 7 at 11 a.m., burial to follow in the Parish Cemetery.
Donations in Tim’s memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the IWK or charity of your choice.
