The family of Stella Lexina MacDonald of 56 Duffel Drive, formerly of 465 Grand Lake Road sadly announces her passing. Lexie went peacefully home to God on Sunday, December 4, 2016. She was the daughter of the late William and Annie Iona (Haynes) Napman. She was a former member of St. Augustine’s parish. Mom was a CWL member for 50 years and received the Metitious medal from St. Augustine parish, where she was the CWL president for 7 years. After retiring from nursing, she worked private duties for 18 years with the C.B. Hospital Nursing Staff. Lexie loved company and her family. Her door was always open for a good cup of tea and conversation. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia, at home, Mary Ridge (John), Winnipeg, MA; sons, Jackie, Victoria, BC, James Vincent, East Bay; sister, Norma Binns, St. John, NB and brother, Armand Napman, Ontario; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lexie was predeceased 27 years ago by the love of her life, her husband, Bernard, better known as Barney; daughter, Joanne Montagnan; granddaughter, Danielle Montagnan and by her son, Bernard on October 24, 2016 in Ontario; daughter-in-law, Sally and sisters, Mae Campbell, Bernice Wombalt, Dorothy Matheson and Patricia Burke. A special thank you to Darlene Perry and Patricia Candelora for being there for us at a time when we needed them the most. To the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the doctors and nurses, thank you for the exceptional care given to our Mom. Visitation for Lexie MacDonald will begin 1 hour prior to her funeral service which will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7 at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel with Fr. Frank Abbass officiating. Interment in St. Theresa’s Parish Cemetery, Sydney.
