78, formerly of Moncton, Charlottetown and Edmonton, was born June 5, 1938, accompanied by her twin sister, Gwendolyn Edge Cochrane, to Francis James and Catherine Verna (Edge) Godfrey of Moncton, NB, passed away at her beloved North Mountain home in Foleaze Park, Centreville, NS on December 5, 2016. Trudy married David Edward Ward of Sunny Brae, NB on July 4, 1964. Together they raised three offspring, Marianne Frances (Paul Macnab), Dartmouth; Jonathan David (Courtney Lindberg), Edmonton, AB and Heidi Jane (Thomas Achenbach), Canmore, AB; three grand-girls blessed their life, Josephine Trudy and Vivian Frances, Dartmouth and Aven Hanna, Canmore, AB; also surviving is Trudy’s twin sister, Gwen, Beaverbank, NS. As a registered nurse, public health nurse and occupational health nurse, Trudy’s extensive nursing career took her from the VON, Moncton and Bathurst, NB to the PEI Department of Public Health, Charlottetown, the Mewburn Veterans Pavilion (U of A Hospital), Edmonton and finally as District Office Nurse for Northern Alberta with Veterans Affairs Canada, Edmonton. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral. A gathering to remember this remarkably kind, generous and gentle person, will take place at her home in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the MS Society of Canada or the charity of your choice. Trudy has requested that her friends remember her by performing a kind deed and saying a kind word to those among us in need of such gestures.
