Marilyn Heather Durling – 69, of Sheffield Mills, Kings County, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Robie and Vera (Schofield) Webster. She began her working career as a bank teller and then was employed as an administrative assistant for several businesses, from where she retired. She loved to sing, especially Pop and Country Music and was the lead vocalist with the band, Candy Apple. Marilyn cherished her friends and family, had a love for animals, possessed a great sense of humour and was always the life of the party. She is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Paula (Jerry) Lyons, Fredericton, NB; Jill Buliziuk (Jason), Kamloops, BC; a son, David (Kim) Steele, Lower Sackville; seven grandsons (her pride and joy), Ben, Wade, David, Connor, Ryan, Josh and Finley; two sisters, Janet (John) Steele, Glenmont; Gail (Rick) Wittenberg, Upper Canard; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Paul. Cremation has taken place. There was no funeral service, by request. Marilyn’s life was celebrated on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, with a sharing of memories held from 6-6:30 p.m., followed by a visitation from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
