Ibbitson(nee Gamble), Dora Lillian age 71 of Amherst passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Debert Court Nursing Home, Debert, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian (Burgess) Gamble.
Dora was all ways out around town walking. She loved handcrafts, puzzles and loved music and dancing. She enjoyed her work at Gables Lodge prior to retiring. Dora was a true animal lover, taking in stray cats and making them her own.
Dora will be fondly remembered by sisters Jane Gamble, Mary Gilroy and Donna Gamble and her furry friend, Maggie.
She was predeceased by her husband Perly Ibbitson; brothers William and Robert and several furry friends.
Following her wishes cremation has taken place.
Funeral services was held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. 902-667-9906 with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dora’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
