Donna Margaret ZUREL
December 19, 1932 – December 15, 2016
Passed away peacefully at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 15th, 2016, Donna Zurel (nee Smith) of Baddeck in her 84th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael, her parents, Norman & Effie-Belle (MacDonald) Smith and her siblings, Norma Marks, Selby Smith (Janet) and Ian Smith. Leaving to mourn their loss but celebrate her life, her sons, Alan (Rita), Jo Mark (Lynn) and their children Heather, Michael and David and her daughter, Melanie (Greg Alexander) and their children Benton (Angelique), Samantha, Olivia and Victoria and her great-grandson, Mitchell Alexander. She also leaves to mourn her siblings, Marcella (DJ Roberts – Deceased), Henry (Sylvia), Walter, Patricia (Jimmy Bradley), Carol, Leonard (Edna) and a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in North River Bridge on Sunday, December 18th at 2 p.m. with Rev. Corrie Stewart Officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow at McLeod House, 42 Jones Street, Baddeck. At the reception, family and friends will be kindly asked to share a memory of Donna as we come together to remember and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (North River Bridge), RR #4, Baddeck, NS, B0E 1B0.
Burial will take place in the spring at Goose Cove Cemetery at a later date.
