1941-2016
Peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Community Hospital, O' Leary on Monday December 19, 2016, with his loving family by his side, of Ivan Joseph DesRoches, beloved husband to Theresa Mary (nee Chaisson) DesRoches of St.Felix, age 75 years. Born on August 2, 1941, he was the son of the late Everett and Eleanor (nee Buote) DesRoches. Loving father to Shelley Arsenault (Dale Creighton) of Kildare, Randy (Julie) of St. Felix, Desirae at home. Cherished grandfather to, Tyler and Amber Handrahan, Colton and Chandler DesRoches, and great-grandfather to Austin Handrahan. Dear brother to Judy (Elmer) Perry of Tignish, Stephen (Chris) of Toronto and James of Calgary. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Tillie Chaisson and Yvonne Chaisson of Toronto. He was predeceased by brother, Edwin, brothers-in-law, Isadore, Jerry, Edgar and Alphie Chaisson. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass Thursday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, celebrant. Interment in the Church cemetery.
