NEW GLASGOW - Lois Amelia (Feltmate) (MacNeil) Connors, 80, New Glasgow, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in White Head, she was a daughter of the late Ross Garfield and Margaret Leona (Grover) Feltmate.
Lois enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, listening to George Jones and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who was the essence of unconditional love.
Surviving are daughters, Tena MacDonald (Bob Crawford), Westville and her daughters, Marie and Nicole; Teresa Merkley (Brian Robinson), Williamsburg, Ont. and her daughters, Rosie and Colleen; Susan (Robert) MacPhail, Pictou and their daughter, Melissa; Mary (Ken) Cunningham, New Glasgow and their children, Kenneth, Kayla and Andy; sons, John MacNeil, Iroquois, Ont. and his children, Cecil, John Jr., Donald and Victoria; Patrick MacNeil (Cyril Blackie), New Glasgow; son-in-law, Ron Fisher, Cole Harbour and his children, Diana, Johnathan, Ronnie, Kevin and Andrew; sisters, Leata Pellerine, Isaac’s Harbour; Gladys Fanning (Ray), Goldboro; brother, Brad Feltmate, Antigonish; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cyril Watson Connors; her children’s father, Cecil MacNeil; son, Andy; daughter, Karen Fisher; daughter-in-law, Jackouline MacNeil; son-in-law, Oliver Merkley; sisters, Marion Smith, Leah MacIsaac and Anita Clyburn; brother, Ross Feltmate.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery.
