Isabel Hardy

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Isabel (Kennedy) Hardy on December 24, 2016, at the North Side Guest Home.
Born in Louisbourg, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Lynk) Kennedy. Isabel was the last surviving member of her family. She worked as an RN in New Waterford, until she was married. Even though she no longer wore the white cap, her role as a nurse to her community, family and friends never ended. Isabel loved to read, and she was very faithful to her church. Isabel is survived by her sons, Wayne (Theresa), John (Lucy), Glenn (Marilyn), Milton and Tommy; grandchildren, Wayne, Paul, Colleen, Nicole, Melanie, John William, Glenn and Richard; and sister-in-law Lois Hardy (Ingonish). She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Herman Hardy; children, Colleen, Elizabeth, Freddy and two in infancy; brothers, Fred, Hughie, Johnny, Will and sisters, Louise, Ellen, Mary and Winnie. Visitation for Isabel will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Stella Maris Parish, Louisbourg. Funeral mass will be held the following day at 10 a.m. with Fr. Everett MacDow officiating. Burial to follow in parish cemetery.
