It is with great sadness that the family of the late Urias Jones of Corner Brook (formerly of L'Anse au Clair) announces his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Book on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the age of 83 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Marjorie; son Terrence (Shawna); daughter Jacqueline (Elvin Normore); grandchildren Michael, Jeremy and Jada; great-grandson Nate; sisters-in-law Georgina and Myrtle; his five nephews and six nieces, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Samual and Mary Jane Jones; brothers Rev. Samual Jones and Percival Jones, and his sister and brother-in-law Helen and Lloyd Hobbs. A special thank you to the staff of the Dialysis Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, whose care for Urias was greatly appreciated by his wife and children. Friends visited Country Haven Funeral Chapel, 167 Country Road on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 between the hours of 2-4 and 7-8 p.m., from where the funeral service followed at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Canon Roberta Woodman officiating. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral services and interment will take place in Labrador at a future date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
