The death occurred peacefully, with family at his side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, of Butch Pineau, beloved husband of Sherry (nee Carey), of Cornwall, aged 70. He was the father of Robbie (Jane) and Lynn (Andrew Smith); grandfather of Mitchell (Dakota), Patricia (Richard), Sandra and Logan Pineau; and Donovan and Faethe Pineau; and great-grandfather of Addyson. He is also survived by his brothers, Barry (Janet), Donnie, Stephen (Corrie); sister, Melinda Peters (Allan); special cousins, Roger Gallant (Pam) and Darlene Gallant; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Alphonse and Theresa (Gauthier) Pineau; his brother, Alan; and his special aunt and uncle, Lobelia and Greg Gallant. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Friday, December 30, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Hope River, on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Ann’s Cemetery.
