It is with great sadness that the family of the late Merle Sheppard announce his tragic passing in Lark Harbour, with his wife Marilyn at his side on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the age of 59 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his son Michael Sheppard; granddaughter Jasmine; siblings: Mary Youden, Virginia (Ralph Lethbridge), Roxanne (Oliver Youden), Beaton Sheppard (Karen), Alicia (William Sloan), Brian Sheppard (Kim) and Llewelyn Sheppard (Marsha); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Cyril and Priscilla Sheppard; brothers: Scott and Edward Sheppard and brother-in-law Lowell Youden. Friends may visit St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 30, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., from where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
