It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Mary Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Noonan, age 91. Betty passed away at her home which was her final wish on Thursday, December 29, 2016.
Born in Jamesville, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Mary Catherine MacNeil. Betty was a homemaker and happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She dedicated her life to raising her family. She was a selfless, kind, gentle, humble soul with a great sense of humour. Ma was the heart of our family and she will be missed dearly by all of us forever. She is survived by her children, Shirley (Ken) Berry, Bedford, Gary, Clara (Aubrey) Goyetche, Linus (Karen), Sydney, Rosie (Charlie) Chiasson, Lower Sackville, Maria Snow, Ottawa, Michael (Lynn), Hammonds Plains and Mary (Mike) MacPhee, Sydney; grandchildren, Kristy, Matthew, Robbie, Ashley, Emily, Jacob, Derek, Luke, Alex, Andrea, Ben, Elizabeth, Danica and great-grandchildren, Lexie, Mason and Brielle, all of whom she loved dearly; sisters, Catherine Anne MacKenzie and Josie Small, Sydney River, Jemima MacNeil , Hamilton and brother, Mickey MacNeil, Jamesville.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank in 1991 and her sister, Mae MacNeil. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Monday, January 2 at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Redeemer Church with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Donations may be made to Salvation Army or charity of choice.
