Keith Leon "Sonny" Doyle

Doyle, Keith Leon “Sonny” – 75, Bible Hill. It is with much sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Keith Leon “Sonny” Doyle, on December 30th, at his home, with his wife and sisters at his side. Sonny was born, November 22, 1941, one of nine children of the late Mildred (Roode) and Ralph Doyle of Bible Hill. Born with a fierce independent streak (also known as stubbornness), he always made sure he “worked for what he got and paid his way”, yet he never hesitated should his family or friends ever need him or his help. Sonny had a very deep and quiet pride in his family and all they had accomplished. Even though they all lived at a distance he kept in close touch with their lives. He served ten years in the Royal Canadian Regiment based in London, Ontario and then Germany. Sonny was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #26, Truro; a member of the Mountain Golf and Country Club, East Mountain; a past member of the United States Trotting Association and the Canadian Trotting Association. He had a great passion for golf and in the winter enjoyed going for coffee in the mornings with his golf buddies. Left to mourn are his wife of 30 years, Pam (Smith); siblings, Bill (Rosemarie) Doyle, Calgary, Phillip Doyle, Ottawa; Marlyn (Ron) Wolfe, Norma (Marshall) Frizzell, Diana Pender, Arthur (Nancy) Doyle, Shelley (Kent) Archibald, all of Truro; sister-in-law, Laurie (Sterns) Blackmore, Brule; children, Stephen (Christine) Doyle, Dundas, On, Leslie (Brent) Tree, Ingersoll, On, Jodie (Jerry) Roderique, Thamesford, On; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren, all of Ontario; step-children, Stephen Yuill, Tanya Yuill (Jerry Kramer) all of Calgary, Alberta; one step-grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Duckie Doyle; granddaughter, Alanna Tree. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4th from 6 - 8 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of choice. On-line condolences may be made at: www.ColchesterCommunity.com
