At the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge on Sunday January 1st, 2017 of Rita Stewart (nee Redmond) formerly of Alberry Plains. Predeceased by her dearly loved husband of 65 years Charlie, (May 16th, 2016) and devoted mother of George (Laura), Judy Kelly (Lennie), Bobby - deceased, Glenda Wilkins (Walter), Janet Koughan (Paul) and Peggy - deceased. Cherished Nanny to Melanie Belik (Darren), Lindsay Kelly-Maund (Travis), Darcy Kelly (Lindsay), Ryan Stewart (Anna), Nick Stewart (Jacy), Kyle Stewart, Helena Stewart (Cody), Matthew Wilkins (Ellen), Nick Wilkins and Ben Koughan; great grandchildren - Madison, Payton, Coby, Abbey, Griffin, Emma, Lucas, Kloe, Charli, Amelia and Charlie. Survived by brother Andrew, sister Catherine, brother-in-law Billy, sister-in-law Inez and numerous nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by her parents Harold and Mary Josephine Redmond; brother Glennie, sister-in-law Mary; and brother-in-law Joseph. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation on Thursday January 5th, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, January 6th, 2017 at St. Joachim’s Church, Vernon River at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joachim’s Cemetery Fund or Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge would be appreciated.
