We, the family of Dorothy Pearl MacAulay, regret to announce her passing on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney. Born June 16, 1925, in Inverness, she was the daughter of the late James and Ethel (Crocket) McLean. Having lived most of her life in Sydney, Pearl and her late husband Lloyd moved to Howie Centre in 1972. Pearl is survived by her son, Floyd (Teresa), East Bay; daughters, Carolyn (Dave) Mudge, Howie Centre, Heather (Joe) Schneidewind, Howie Centre, Linda (John) King, Sydney River and Audrey (Ron) Tutty, Hammonds Plains; brother, Douglas McLean, Sydney; grandchildren, Robert (Tracy), Crystal (Darcy), Graham (Kara), Jamie (Patrice), Mack, Melissa (Andrew), Allison, Jody (Adam), Amy (Nathan), Craig (Beth), Matthew and Jeffery (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Rory, Ada, Gabriel, James, Austin, Paige, Dylan, Isla Pearl, Elsie, Avery, Rowan, Mary and Mya. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd and brothers, Earl, Floyd and Aubrey; one grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 9 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating. Interment in Oakfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Red Cross.
