Lillian Firth

Passed on: January 5th, 2017

With fond memories and sad hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lillian Iris Firth, on Thursday, January 5th, 2017 to be with her Lord and Saviour. Lil was born in Tuxford, SK on February 4th, 1926. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy James Firth on March 13th, 1987 and her parents, Iris and Walter Johnson of the Stoney Beach area. Lil is survived by her daughters: Sharon Hardy (Ron), Debbie Firth, and Audrey Koot (Perry); son, Steve Firth (Shelley); sister, Lois McMillin; brother, Ken Johnson (Vi); 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lil, with her cheerful ways, was all giving of her time to family, friends, church and community. She spent her growing years on the family farm in the beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley and attended Coyote Run School. At 16 years old she moved to Moose Jaw to work, where she met Roy. Shortly after meeting, World War II started and Roy went off to war and Lil went to work in an ammunitions factory in Woodstock, ON. After the war, Lil and Roy reconnected and were married on July 13th, 1946. Lil was all about family and we will miss her dearly. Words cannot express the care, compassion and patience given to our Mom at Extendicare this past three years. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Doug Siggelkow from Hillcrest Apostolic Church will officiate and interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery.
