Hopewell : Mary “Lillian” Beck, 97, formerly of Hopewell, passed away on Friday January 6, 2017 at Valley View Villa, Riverton.
Born July 7, 1919 in Watervale, Pictou County she was a daughter of the late Neil and Barbara (Campbell) Matheson.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ossie, her sister Eleanor Baigent and her brother Allister Matheson.
She will be dearly missed by her son Robert and daughter Barbara (Irving) Young; her grandchildren Heather (Gerald) Green, Mark VanEk and Shaun (Melanie) Beck; her great-grandchildren Maia, Ryan, Anna and Callum Green; several nieces and nephews.
Her wit and musical talent, which for years she willingly shared, will be fondly remembered.
The family wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Valley View Villa for the kindness and care shown to our mother while she resided there and to her friends and neighbours who keep in touch.
The cremated remains of Lillian and her beloved Ossie will be interred together at a later date, to be announced.
Donations in her memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell.
Arrangements are entrusted to the H.C.MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton .
