Mohagen; Yvonne Madeline Mohagen, age 74, of Swift Current, SK passed away January 4th, 2017 at the Meadows Long Term Care Facility. The Memorial Service was held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Eagles Hall with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. A Family tribute was given by her children, Lori and Mike, granddaughter Amy and sister Denise. Honorary Pallbearers were all who shared in her life. Yvonne is survived by her husband Jim Mohagen; daughter Lori (Dave) Carduner, granddaughter Amy; son Mike (Danette) Mohagen and grandchildren Dallen and Sydney; brothers; John, Ron, Jim and Paul; sisters Marguerite, Denise, Therese and Cathy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Clement and Cecile Cascagnette; her mother and father-in-law Ivan and Edna Mohagen; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Yvonne was born on July 10th, 1942 in Weyburn, SK. She attended school in Weyburn and enjoyed singing and dancing with the Legionettes and the local Teen Club. Yvonne began her career in Weyburn as a Psychiatric Nurse where she met Jim Mohagen, who she would marry on July 27, 1963 in St. Louis, SK. Jim and Yvonne and their young family moved to Swift Current in 1968. Throughout her 49 year career as a nurse she worked for many years at the Swift Current Care Center and retired from the Swift Current Hospital in 2009. Yvonne enjoyed travelling, cruises and warm holidays with Jim and especially loved camping when the kids were little. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, both at the farm and in Calgary. After retiring, she enjoyed playing scrabble with the Swift Current Scrabble Club, even winning a provincial seniors scrabble tournament. Yvonne had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and have fun. She was a wonderful cook, loved hosting friends and family and giving to others. She was very generous to all she knew. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by her family and friends. In her memory, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Mental Health, 170 4th Ave. N.W., Swift Current, SK.
