Kenneth Joseph Wayne Bernard, age 70 years (formerly of Summerside, PE), passed away suddenly on January 1, 2017, at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, NL. Ken proudly served 27 years in the Canadian Armed Forces before spending his retirement years in Newfoundland. He is survived by his wife, Pearl Duffy (Torbay, NL); sons Mike (Melissa) (Charlottetown); Joseph (Toronto); and daughter L.D. (Toronto), from previous marriages; step-children and step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Avis Bernard, and brother, James Alyre Bernard. Cremation has taken place and visitation occurred at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay, NL, on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
