Joyce Emily Babineau (Chamberlain) – 91, North River, passed away peacefully in the Mira Long Term Care Centre on January 18, 2017.
Born in Stewiacke, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mary (Challis) Chamberlain.
Joyce is survived by daughter, Nancy (Stephen) Fisher; sons, David Babineau, Peter (Alane) Babineau; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sister, Doris (Robie) Josey; brothers, Art (Joan) Chamberlain, Eddie “Fuzzer” (Mary) Chamberlain; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; son, Wade Babineau; great grandson, Korey Bates; sisters, Vernie Spackman, Pearl Hebb, Shelagh Kelly; brothers, Roy Chamberlain, Harold Chamberlain, Austin Chamberlain.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22 from 6-8pm with Funeral Service on Monday, January 23 at 2pm both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Reception will follow. Spring Interment will take place in Robie Street Cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations celebrating Joyce’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
