MOULAISON, Vincent Joseph - age 88, Abram's River, Yarmouth County, passed away on January 11, 2017 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 20, 1928 in the family home at Abram's River, where he would reside for most of his life. He served in the Canadian Army (1951-52), stationed in Germany. Upon returning home, he worked at various jobs, including lobster fishing, however he will be mostly remembered as a scallop fisherman working for various companies from Lunenburg to Digby County. He also enjoyed picking apples commercially in the Valley. Vincent's passion was baseball and he was a catcher on various teams including the Abram's River Tigers, where he played with his brothers. Vince enjoyed the simple things in life: fishing, hunting, walking the woods checking his snares, biking to Carl's Store to pick-up groceries or just mowing the lawn. In later years he would spend his days in his favourite rocking chair, listening to his favourite radio station. Vince was a gentle man who appreciated everything that was done for him. He is loved and will be missed by so many. Vincent was a son of the late Francois and Melvina (Hubbard) Moulaison. He is survived by his siblings, Evangeline LeBlanc, Villa St-Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton; Gertrude Bourque, Hamilton, ON; Paul (Vera) Moulaison, Coniston, ON, as well as by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Thadee "Ted", Genevieve, Louis, Camille, and Marjorie. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. There was no visitation by request of the family. A funeral mass was held on Monday, January 16 at 11 a.m. in Saint Anne's Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Albeni d'Entremont officiated. Burial was held in the parish cemetery. Donations in Vincent's memory may be made to Saint Anne's Church Building Fund.
