March 31, 1939 - January 12, 2017 Born March 31, 1939 in North Vancouver, BC. Passed away peacefully on January 12, 2017 at age 76 in the Kamloops Hospital.

He was predeceased by parents John and Jessica Leavens, brothers Ron Barten (Sharon) and Michael Leavens, and sister Marilyn Lukoni (John). He will be loved and missed by son Keith Leavens and sister Barb Sayle, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The Leavens family moved to Pavilion from West Vancouver in 1949 to own/operate the Pavilion store. In 1951 they moved to an upper Hat Creek farm and in 1955 they moved to a farm in the Yalakom Valley.

In the early 1960's, Dave served 2 years in the Navy before settling in Lillooet and in 1966 he started with BC Rail, retiring 29 years later in 1995. In 1975 he married Gloria Schappert and had Keith in 1976.

In the 1980's, Dave loved to travel all over the country with Keith to BMX Trials. He was an avid gardener with a green thumb and was truly talented with his hands and tools. He was an incredible woodworker and carpenter, and a few of us are fortunate to have one of his pieces.

Dave will be cremated and a memorial service and Celebration of Life will be determined by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lillooet District Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
