It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jessie Marie Miles announce her passing surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 74 years. Jessie will always be remembered for her love for her family, her infectious smile that she always had even through her illness. She enjoyed walking in all kinds of weather, collecting treasures along her way. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 52 years Lorne; daughters: Bonnie (Bob Barry), Lorna (Brian) LeDrew and Pamela (George) Earle; grandchildren: Tyler (Cass), Chad and Brooklyn; brothers: Ed (Nellie) Power, Pat (Linda) Power, John Power and Jim Power; sisters: Katherine (Leo) Higgins and Helen (Gary) Mahoney; brother-in-law Bond Brenton; sisters-in-law: Maude Miles, Bernice (Mike) and Renalda; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins and many special friends who visited us over the past few years. Jessie was embraced with much love and such great care throughout her illness by all of her caregivers especially Jenn. Special thank you to nurse Andrea Briffett, Dr. Ryan, Dr. Porter and Dr. Dunn for your numerous phone calls and home visits. She was predeceased by her father Daniel Power, mother Rita Dwyer and stepfather Bill Dwyer, sisters Mary (Tom) Skiffington and Millicent Brenton, parents-in-law Jesse and Hettie Miles, sister-in-law Verna (Jim) Grant, brother-in-law Gerald Miles and special furry friend Finn. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Monday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Russell officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Bay of Islands SPCA.
