It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cyril Chaytor announce his passing on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 89 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Mona, Gregory (Veronica), Josephine, Monty (Mary) and Aiden (Karen); 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Violet MacIsaac and Clemmie Ballman; brother Michael (Hilda) Symmonds; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred Chaytor, parents James and Anne Chaytor, son Everett Chaytor, daughter Betty Scott, brothers Greg and Kevin Chaytor. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Tuesday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Parish, Benoit's Cove with Father Don Leonard officiating. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
