It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful Mom, adoring Nanny and loving sister, Elizabeth Kavanagh of St. John's (born in Brent's Cove and formerly from Bell Island) while surrounded by love and devotion from her family at the age of 87 years. Predeceased by her parents John and Maude Sullivan, husband William, her baby son Billy, sisters Nellie and Ann, infant grandchildren John Patrick and Christopher Joseph. Left behind to cherish many beautiful memories, remembering those warm hugs and a smile that filled our hearts with joy, are her 14 children: Ken (Alice), Rod (Noreen), Greg, Judy (Brian), Byron (Sue), Paul (Bernadine), Glenn (Barb), Anne Marie, Carl (Rochelle), Joe (Lorraine), Jackie (Guy), Mary, Alice (Rick) and Maude; her 24 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn four sisters: Mollie, Ellen Marie (Alice), Stella & Gennie; four brothers: Joe, Greg, Ed & Jerry, as well as numerous loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to thank those who showed her compassion and cared for her throughout the last journey of her life. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Parish, Patrick Street, St. John's. Christian Burial to take place on Bell Island. Flowers are gracefully accepted or donations in Elizabeth's memory may be made to the The Gathering Place or the Alzheimer's Society of Newfoundland.

She was a woman who had a strong faith and enormous strength, who deeply loved and protected her children and grandchildren above all else and we were so fortunate to have had her in our lives for as long as we did. In our mother's words "I loved you all equally but different. Those who needed me more, I gave more of me, those who needed me less
had less of me."

Mom, now you can rest in peace.
