It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rex Hewitt announce his passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the age of 68 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 48 years, Barbara; daughter Tracy Hewitt (Alvin Hollett); son Richard Hewitt (Nancy); grandchildren: Ashley (Doug), Joyce, Dominic, Delon and Destiny; sister Mary Skiffington; brothers: Ron Hewitt and Gordon (Catherine); two close friends: Calvin Vincent and Barry Simms; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Rex was predeceased by his parents: Archibald and Joyce Hewitt. Visitation will take place Tuesday, 2-4 p.m. at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road. In keeping with Rex's wishes cremation will follow. Funeral service will be held at Country Haven Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 26, 2 p.m. with Rev. David Taylor officiating.
