Norman D  MacLeod

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of our dear brother and uncle Norman D MacLeod, age 85, at home on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Born in Framboise, he was the son of the late Norman ‘Klondike’ and Katie Ann (MacKillop) MacLeod. He was woodsman until his retirement. Norman D was a member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. He belonged to the Framboise Heather Lodge #124 and the Framboise Seniors Group. He was an avid card and dart player, he enjoyed dancing in his younger years. Norman D is survived by his brother, Ramsay (Ann) MacLeod, Marion Bridge; sisters, Lily, Cove Guest Home, Sydney, Pearl (Allister) MacDonald, Gabarus Lake, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Katie (Malcolm) MacDonald, Margaret (Murdock) MacRae, Dolena (Buddy) MacAulay; brothers, Malcolm Alex, Johnnie (Helen) MacLeod and Charlie (Rhodena) MacLeod; brother-in-law, Angus MacLeod.
Visitation for Norman D will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Funeral service will take place 1 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Framboise with Rev. Cory Stewart officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Reception will be held at the Community Hall, Framboise. Donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Church, Framboise. ‘There are no strangers in freemasony only friends you get to meet.’ Davis Thomas.
