Sheila M. Walsh

Passed away peacefully at Pleasant View Towers on Sunday, January 22, 2017, Sheila M. Walsh, aged 62 years, retired Nursing Assistant and Social Worker. Sheila was born and raised in her beloved Calvert and resided in St. John's. She is predeceased by her father, Kevin (1988); brother, Ronnie (2011); and mother, Genevieve (2015). She will be forever missed by her loving son, Trevor (April) and precious grandson, Trent, Calvert; her siblings Kevin (Dianne), Calvert; Paul, Calgary, Alberta; Ambrose (Roma), Airdrie, Alberta; Gerard, Fort McMurray, Alberta; Shawn (Janet), Calvert; Francis (Bonita), Calvert; Bev (Brian), Perth, Australia; Sheri (Perry), St. John's; Rodney (Sherry), Witless Bay; Jill (Doug), Calgary, Alberta. Honouring Sheila's lifetime gifts of wisdom, inspiration, and unconditional love and support are her twenty-four nieces and nephews: Bradley, Steven, Shane, Stacey, Jeremy, Kyle, Cody, Amber, Ashton, Emily, Jeff, Stephanie, Braedon, Cheryl, Courtney, Farren, Lauren, Samantha, Alex, Jessica, Kailey, Matthew, Melissa, and her devoted Godson, Scott, as well as eleven great-nieces and great-nephews. Also left with fond memories of Sheila are her loving aunts: Marie, Ella, Betty, Bridget, Carmel, Betty, Margie, Madonna; and uncle, Reg; a large circle of cousins and friends, especially Anne Brophy, Dianne Boland, Erin Pennell, Lorraine Perks, Margot (Suma), Sharon and Wally Murphy, Cathy and Dave Young, Jean Hafey, Jim Moore; and, her special lifelong friend and cousin, Sandra Reddy. Many thanks and appreciation to the staff at 4 North B, Heath Sciences Centre, and the amazing staff of 4 North West, Pleasant View Towers. At her request, cremation has taken place. Visitation on Friday, January 27, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Fahey's Funeral Home, Fermeuse. Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by her cousin, Fr. Ken Walsh, on Saturday, January 28 at 10 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Church, Calvert. Inurnment at Holy Family Cemetery, Ferryland, with reception to follow at Calvert Hall. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in her memory to the Tommy Sexton Shelter.
