Allan "Chappy" George  Chapman

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Allan "Chappy" George Chapman, age 61, of Tidnish Bridge. After a lengthy illness, Allan passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the late Rodger (Brenda Rushton) Chapman and Lois (Austin Vickery) Chappell-Vickery.
Chappy enjoyed the company of his family and his many friends. Always passionate about his work, he formerly owned Amherst Towing, then later went on to be a heavy equipment operator in Fort McMurray. He loved his time boating out on the Tidnish River, or time out for a drive. He enjoyed time in the woods hunting with his friends.
He is sadly missed by his life partner Lourlei MacLean, Tidnish Bridge; son John (Jenn), Tidnish; daughter Christine (Jim) Burbine, Amherst; step-son Jacob, Port Elgin; step-daughters Alexis MacLean, and Robyn Cormier, both of Halifax; 3 grandchildren, Rene, Christina, and Amber; step grandchildren Finn; sister Joy Gallant, Toronto, ON; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister Shelley Wilkes.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where cremation took place. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service, honouring Chappy's life will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 2 pm, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Donations in memory of Allan may be made to the Cumberland VON, or a charity of the donor's choice.
Allan's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to his friend and Doctor, Dr. Brian Ferguson.
