Paul Vincent Armsworthy

Armsworthy, Paul Vincent – 88, Onslow Mountain, passed away peacefully January 27, 2017 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Rev. Wilfred and Gertrude (MacPherson) Armsworthy. Paul worked over 40 years as meat department manager for Ryan’s IGA, Truro. He loved to fish, hunt, ski, bowl and dance. He built his homes on Lawnwood and Ridgewood Drives, Truro and his home on Onslow Mountain. He was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play baseball and hockey and was a fan of the Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jean (nee MacCallum, Perrin); children, Sharen (Pat) Lipton, Edmonton, AB, Paulette (Grant) McKinnon, Beaumont, AB, Dave (Jane), Brookfield, Tim (Maria), Stony Plain, AB; step-children, Gary (Roberta) Perrin, Wayne (Donna) Perrin, both of Hilden, Donald (Lynda) Perrin, White Rock, BC, Cindy (Wesley Patriquin) Perrin, Wentworth, Jeannie (Rob Forrester) Tinling, Hilden; siblings, Dot, Peg, Mona, Sheila, Gordon and Carl; nine grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Kay (Wallace); sister, Audrey Armsworthy; brothers, Herman and Roy. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 31 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 1 at 2 p.m. all in the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Interment at Belmont Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses or charity of choice.
