The death occurred at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, NS on Saturday, January 28, 2017 of Lorne Wesley Hardy of Chester Grant, NS, aged 88, husband of the late Selma (nee Arthur). Born in Portage, PEI on April 10, 1928, son of the late Major and May (Milligan) Hardy. Loving father to daughters Jean Robar, New Germany, NS; Sharon (James) Oakley, Chester Grant, NS; sons Wesley (Carol), Ottawa, ON; Troy (Maureen), St John’s, NL; Shawn (Linda), Chester Grant, NS. Lorne will be sadly missed by his 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren who he loved dearly. Dear brother to Violet Wood, Summerside; Erma Dockendorf, Summerside; Wendell (Mary), Oakville, ON; Joyce Simmons, Summerside; Elva Obukuro, Toronto; Alton (Donna) Fredericton, N.B.; Eldon (Joyce), Cascumpec and Merrill (Helen), Summerside. Predeceased by his parents, wife Selma, son in law Garnet Obar, grandson Jerry and infant great grandchild. Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral on Friday in the Chapel at 3 p.m. Interment to take place in the Elmsdale United Church Cemetery in the spring.
