On January 17, 2017 we lost a beautiful soul. Anna was a daughter, sister, mother, cousin, niece, friend and cheerleader for so many. She was the mother of Bennett and daughter of Doug and Jill Howard, sister of Emily (Liam Kearney) and Samuel (Melissa MacInnis) Howard; also survived by Bennett’s father Mark Cudmore. From an early age she knew that working with children was her calling. Anna saw her dream turn to reality when she became a kindergarten teacher. She referred to the children in her classroom as “her children” and she meant it. She loved each one of them, year after year as if they were her own. Anna was the type of person who said hello to every passer-by on the sidewalk just to get a smile. She would often leave anonymous notes around town and at the beach that would hopefully lift the spirit of anyone who came across them. The true passion and love of Anna’s life was her son Bennett. She always wanted to be a mother. When her beautiful baby boy arrived she was complete. She spent the last years completely devoted to him, his health and happiness. The two of them went on many Mommy and Bennett dates and laughed constantly. What many people never realized though is how strong Anna was: bravely fighting an awful disease that depression is, all the while trying to lift others up through her battle. She was so strong and courageous. But like all diseases even the best treatment and support sometimes aren’t enough. Anna always said to give people compassion because “everyone is doing the best they can in that moment”. Anna is still our daughter, sister, mother, cousin, niece, friend and cheerleader. She covered this world with joy and kindness, now she has moved on to teach that kind of beauty somewhere else. We love you Anna. Resting at Maclean Funeral Home Swan Chapel.
