James (Jim) Patrick Costello

Passed on: January 31st, 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Jim Costello (80), announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather on Tuesday, January 31st, at home surrounded by his loving family and his favorite music, after a brief illness. Jim was born in Sydney and was the son of the late James Costello and the late Blanche Mollon. Jim spent over 40 years in Northside East Bay before moving to Ontario in 1996. Jim had a long and successful career of over 40 years in the automotive industry at Sampson Motors, Cape Breton Chrysler and Jim Sampson Motors in Sydney. Jim could always be found on the dance floor with his wife Joan and their good friends Bob and Effie and Ross and Archena. He loved life, music and especially playing his keyboards at the retirement homes with Owen Bonnell and their band Young At Heart. He was a member of the Cape Breton Chordsman for the past few years. One of his favorite past times was golf every Saturday with Odie, Jack, his son Glenn and whichever son was home visiting.
