LILLIAN 'LIL' LIRETTE

Born In: GLACE BAY, Nova Scotia

Passed on: January 24th, 2017

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Lillian Lirette, 73, on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, peacefully at home. Born in Glace Bay, Lillian was the daughter of the late James and Feodora (Bernasky) Ross.
Lil was strong, generous, kind and loving with a wonderfully dry sense of humour. She loved being surrounded by her family and was always there to help. She was blessed with many friends and family visiting her often. She enjoyed entertaining at her home and cooking her famous chicken and rice. Lil will be missed by all who knew her. After spending 53 years of marriage with Sylva and never spending a day apart, they are now back in each other’s arms. Lillian is survived by her son, Jamie (Klara) and two loving grandchildren, Korben and Calista. She also leaves behind her sisters, Delores (Mike), Ann and Margie; brother, John; nieces, Lindsay, Trena (Rex) and Lillyann (Joey); great-nieces and great-nephews, Chantelle, Cole, Tegan and Joshua; as well as many more loving extended family members. Besides her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her loving husband, Sylva and brother, Jerry.
Memorial service for the life of Lillian Lirette will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Pier Community Funeral Home, All Faith Chapel, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street), with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home. Online condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.pierfuneralhome.com.
‘As long as life and memory last, we will love and remember you.’
