In 1964 he went to MacDonald College as an Associate Professor of Animal Science. He returned to NSAC in 1974 as Registrar. P.Y. took a great interest in his students. Peter had a deep faith, and his church families of St. George’s Anglican Church in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, and St. John’s Anglican Church, Truro, were very important to him.
An avid fisherman, Peter enjoyed his involvement with the Cobequid Salmon Association for many years. He had a curious mind and a variety of interests spanning his 92 years, including sable island ponies, short wave radio, bird watching, music, gardening, and airplanes. He had a sincere interest in people, always ready to give them his full attention as he listened to their views and stories.
But most important in Peter’s life were his wife Margaret, his family, and the cottage at Caribou Island, where family gatherings were common. Peter enjoyed a good laugh, and was a loving, kind, and gentle man. Peter will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, and the many others whose lives he has touched.
