Madonna (Donna) Beresford

Born: April 22nd, 1956

Passed on: February 2nd, 2017

On February 2, 2017, Heaven welcomed a beautiful angel, Madonna (Donna) Anne Beresford. Donna passed peacefully away, surrounded by her loving family at the Placentia Lions Manor Nursing Home. She was in her 61st year. Donna had many interests. To name just a few: she was a Barbie Doll collector, a story teller, a prankster and joke teller, a coffee connoisseur and a TV soap opera critic. She loved to be asked to propose toasts to people on special occasions (Christmas times and Birthdays were her favourites and she so enjoyed to bask in the lime light). Her favourite of all was to interact with people. Donna loved everyone and everyone loved Donna. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Monica Beresford. Leaving to mourn are her sisters and brothers Peggy (Jim Reimer), Brenda (Frank Myrick), Michael (Sharon), Lucille (Steve Pumphrey), Mary (Mahmood Khedmatgozar), Kenny (Hilda), Sheila (Arnold Pomeroy), Jeanette, and Kim (Tommy Murphy); her nieces and nephews Jennifer, Stephen, Melanie, Michael, Genna-Lee, Sarah, Braeden, Daniel and Meisha; and her great-niece Bella. Survived by her aunts Marg Hickey, Imelda Hickey and Josephine Hickey, plus her many cousins and a large circle of friends. Special thanks to her home caregivers Anne Mullaley and Donna Pittman, and to her caregivers at the Placentia Lions Manor (especially Unit Three) where she recently resided, as well as Dr. Jamil and Dr. Power. An extra special thank you to her sister Sheila and niece Sarah for all their loving care and attention given over the many years. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia, with visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 pm and 6-9 pm, daily. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater, followed by interment at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted, or a donation to a charity of your choice in her memory. You are in the arms of mom and dad. Rest in Peace, Cutie Cutie.
