Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear Long Term Care Facility on Thursday, February 2, 2017, Ellis R. Oliver of Northern Bay, age 93 years. Predeceased by parents: Reuben and Bertha, brothers: Max (Florence) and Doug (Gladys); sisters: Lily (Jack), Dorothy (Joe), and Nita (Allan). Left to mourn, wife: Sarah; three daughters: Betty McCarthy, Western Bay, Carol (Jim) O'Neil, St. John’s, and Wendy Hann, CBS; five sons: Wade (Lynette), Toronto, Don (Elaine), Ochre Pit Cove, Ron, Northern Bay, David (Darlene), CBS, and Clyde (Debbie), Burnt Point; a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Rev. Glenn Jarvis conducted the funeral service on Sunday, February 5 at Noel's Memorial Chapel, Western Bay. Interment was in the United Cemetery, Burnt Point.
