Plymouth Park: Gillis, John Fraser, 89 of Plymouth Park, Pictou County passed away peacefully Thursday February 9, 2017 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Stellarton on June 8, 1927, he was a son of the late Ray and Evelyn (Fraser) Gillis.
John worked at the former Trenton Works until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and working in his garden as well as watching his favorite teams, the Toronto Blue Jays and the New England Patriots.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 wonderful years, the former Lois (Kellock); his children: Sandy, Peter, Lisa (Jimmy), David, Irving, Ian( Kathy) and Allan (Tracy); a brother Ray; grandchildren: Ryan, Mitchell, Tessa, Allan, Alisha, Emily, Tanner, Ania, Jane and Lana; great-grandchildren: Blake and Olivia.
He was predeceased by sons Philip and Mark; his parents Ray and Evelyn; sisters: Nora, Betty, Nancy, Mary; brothers: Billy and George.
Cremation to take place. There will be no visitation or services as per John’s wishes. A private burial will take place at a later date.
