Dale Marie Bellefontaine (Cheverie)

Dale Bellefontaine, beloved wife, mother and sister, passed away surrounded by her family on February 9, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. A proud Islander originally from Souris, P.E.I., Dale resided in Halifax, N.S. with her family where she taught Special Education for over 30 years. Dale enjoyed a good book, was quick to solve a crossword, loved a wide variety of music and trips with family. She will be lovingly remembered by husband Barrie, son Craig (Celyeste), daughter Kristin, parents Omar and Bertha Cheverie, twin sister Debra Cheverie, brother Randy Cheverie (Jeanette), youngest sister Vonda Laffin (Michael) and many cherished nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to Dale’s many caregivers, especially Ethel Grier and Joanne MacLeod.
A service to commemorate Dale’s life will take place on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at J.A. Snow Funeral Home on Lacewood Dr. in Halifax at 1:00pm, a reception will follow. Given Dale’s love of flower arrangements, the family is graciously accepting flowers for the service.
