The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Saturday, February 11, 2017 of Lawson Thompson, beloved husband of Ruth of Hampshire, aged 74. Lawson was the loving father of Anna Thompson, Jill MacLean (Dave Tierney), Jane Pineau (Rob) and Gordon Thompson (Laura-Lee); grandfather of Terry (Katie), Johnathon, Jamie, Tyler, Chantel, Mitchel, Jaime-Lynn, Mitchell (Dakota), Patricia (Richard), Sandra (Scott), Logan, Taylor and Dustin; and great-grandfather of Addyson, Cadence and Miley. He is also survived by his sister, Eleanor Cameron (Wayne); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Lawson was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Mildred (Tremere) Thompson, his brother, Warren; and his father and mother-in-law, Gordon and Helen MacLeod. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at Central Queen’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Please check the website below or call the funeral home for changes due to weather.
