Varner, Edward Matthew “Ed”, 73, of Bible Hill, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro. Born in Lower Truro, he was a son of the late Everett “Red” and Miriam (Langille) Varner. Ed had worked for Snack Pack Services in Major Foods, the Salvation Army, and with Zellers up until his retirement. He is survived by sisters, Juanita McCabe, and Marie Bryan, Truro, Jeanette Webb, Bible Hill, Barb Atkinson, Halifax. He was predeceased by sisters, June Taylor, Edna Forbes, Evelyn McNutt. No visitation or funeral service per Ed’s request at this time. A visitation at the funeral home, and graveside service and interment will be held at a later date (time and date to be announced) in the Bible Hill Cemetery, Bible Hill. Donations in Ed’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Special thanks to Burton Purdy for all his acts of kindness to Ed over the years.
