Art was the son of the late Benadict and Dorothy (Reid) Nugent.
Art was predeceased by his older brother Terry Nugent, son Christopher “Chris” Nugent, his former wife Jane Malcolm, brother-in-law Russell Stewart, PEI and nephew Mark Stewart, PEI.
Art leaves behind his brothers Ben Nugent, Stellarton; David Nugent, Windsor, Ontario; sister Anne “Nan” Stewart, PEI and his wife Carol Snell Nugent, Stellarton; sons Greg (Jen) Hale, St. Catherine’s Ontario; Chad (Bonnie) Hale, MacLellan’s Brook; daughter Jacklynn “Jackie” Hale, Westville; his grandchildren whom he really loved, Jesse and Brad Hale, Ben Lasalle, Mya and Ayden Hale and many nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind his special buddies who will really miss him and loved coming for a beer. Art was a great husband, father and grandfather.
He was a well known and loved electrician in Pictou County who loved life, loved his yard, planting his vegetable garden and flowers. Art never took a break from his yard, always building and repairing.
Art will be in our hearts and in his beautiful yard he loved so much.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jota, Dr. Ann Kwasnick, Debbie Williams and all the nurses in the Palliative Care for all their special care and his son Chad and daughter Jackie and grandson Jesse who were by his side during his illness.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Tuesday in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Barrett Clare- Johnson officiating and Father Peter MacDonald Con-celebrating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Donations in memory of Art may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
