With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our brother, Joseph Murphy, age 62. He died with family at his side at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, February 13, 2017. Born in Charlottetown, he is the son of the late Albert and Margaret Murphy. Joseph was also predeceased by his brother, Ronald Edward; and sister, Sylvia Anne. He is survived by his siblings, Alberta Murphy-Smith, David Murphy, Gloriajean Murphy, Donna Picard (Jean Guy), Mary Murphy (Lynn Taylor), Lisa Murphy (Kevin Brooks), Laurie Murphy (Stephen Lyon) and Ronalda Murphy (Greg Somers). He will be dearly missed by his many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins and by many dear friends here and abroad. Joseph’s early childhood was spent in Prince Edward Island National Park, where he attended Grand Tracadie School, prior to living in Fundy National Park. Joseph had a long teaching career, not only in Canada, but also in Aruba, and all throughout Asia. Resting at the Father Clare Macdonald Lounge, St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Cornwall, for visitation on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at 12 p.m., with reception to follow.
