It is with great sadness that the families of Hounsell Clement Neil announce his passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care facility in Corner Brook, NL., on Wednesday, February 15th, 2017, in his 97 year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 75 years Maude (nee Hiscock), daughters: Frances (Alfred) Evans, St. Anthony, Loretta (Sandy) Parsons, Norris Pt., and son: Howard (Nancy), Norris Pt., his grandsons: Sheldon (Sandra) Parsons, Corner Brook, Fabian (Kathleen) Parsons, Guelph, ON., Andre (Yu) Parsons, Hakodate, Japan, Blair (Jennifer) Neil, Calgary, AB, David (Gillian) Neil, Gander, Jamie Evans, Ottawa, ON., his 5 great-grandchildren; Natalie Parsons, Owen Parsons, Hazel-Lynn Parsons, Alex Parsons and Audrey Neil, his sisters; Amanda Tulk and Gwen Dennis both of Deer Lake, and sisters-in-law; Jessie Neil, Mass, USA, Marjorie Reid, Eulah Howell, Gerine Collingwood, and Shirley Hiscock (Major), brothers-in-law: James Reid, David Collingwood, and Wallace Maynard. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law: Joan Neil, parents; Henry and Margaret Neil, brothers: John (Edith), Newman, and Gordon, sisters: Elizabeth (Harry) Janes, Rita (Harvey) Laing, Dulcie (Roland) Burden, Alma (Garfield) Jenniex, Annie (Charles) Janes, parents-in-law: Solomon (Caroline) Hiscock, brothers-in-law: Harold (Miriam) Hiscock, Alex (Phyllis) Hiscock, Clifford Hiscock, Clive Tulk, Don Dennis, Chesley Howell, sister-in-law: Harriet (Victor) Reid, Ellen Maynard. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends. Our family would like to thank the staff of Northern Retirement Home, Port Saunders, and staff of Corner Brook Long Term Care facility for their caring and compassion during dad's stay. The family will be receiving family and friends at The Church of The Good Shepherd in Norris Pt, NL, on Saturday, February 18th, 2017, from the hours of 7-9 pm., and continuing on Sunday, February 19th, 2017, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm., where also the funeral service will take place from on Monday, February 20th, 2017 at 2:00pm., with Rev. Kay Short officiating with the burial to follow at the church cemetery in Norris Pt., NL.
