William Garnet "Camp"  Edwards

William Garnet "Camp" Edwards, 85, of River Hebert, passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Monday, February 13, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Garnet was a son of the late Gerald and Mary (White) Edwards.
Garnet was a coal miner and for many years worked on the Great Lake Boats, having retired in 1985. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed playing the guitar, attending Bingo and going to parties. If you overheard "Here Here Now", you knew Garnet was nearby.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Peter (Dawn), Debbie (Bruce) Hebert and Michael (Susan); six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; his siblings, Leo (Eleanor) Edwards, Joyce (Fred) LeBlanc, Eleanor Nelson and friend, Bill, and Gary (Darlene) Edwards, many nieces, nephews and his close friends, Chris & Shoana O'Brien and his best friend, Bill White.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased his wife, Betty (nee Doyle); by his sons, Ricky, and Lawrence "Butch", his grandsons Jason and Scotty and brothers, Joseph, Douglas, Reginald, Harvey, Donald, and Lewis.
The family wishes to extends a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Palliative Care of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre for their compassion and care.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, Main Street, River Hebert (902-251-2877) from where a time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church on Thursday at 11 am. Interment will take place in the St. Denis Cemetery in the Spring.
