Neil Albert Payne, formerly of Fogo, passed peacefully away at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre in St. John's on Saturday, February 18th, 2017 at age 74. Neil is predeceased by his parents Cyril and Edna Payne, and is survived by his loving wife Sylvia of 49 years, his two sons Steve (Liz) and Mark (Caroline), his five grandchildren Anna, Julia, Avery, Zevi and baby Oake Payne, his Uncle Stewart Payne of Corner Brook and cousin Margaret Oake of Fogo. Neil was a strong, private man, who loved his family deeply, and was well loved by all. There was nothing his hands could not build or fix, and he and Sylvia enjoyed every minute of their retirement at their beautiful cabin on Thorburn Lake, which they built together, and shared with their many special friends. Visitation will be held at Carnell's Funeral Home at 329 Freshwater Road on Monday, February 20th between 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral will take place on February 21st at 11 am at St. Mark's Anglican Church, followed by interment at Portugal Cove Anglican Cemetery. Please, no flowers by request of the family, but donations may be made to either Palliative Care at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, or to St. Mark's Anglican Church.
