The death occurred peacefully at Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, of Alyre Doucette, husband of the late Shirley (nee DesRoche), formerly of North Winsloe, aged 87. Alyre was the loving father of Allan (Jennifer), Linda Ford, Debbie Doucette, Michael (Sarah), Theresa Colquhoun (Robert) and Paul (Dianne); grandfather of Harley and Jeremy Boss, Randy Tipe, Sheehan McKnight, Ashley Pineau (Dwayne), Marlee Ford, Joshua Ford, Lindsey Colquhoun and Matthew Doucette; and great-grandfather of many. He is also survived by his brother, Gregory (Pauline); sister-in-law, Sharon Doucette; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his wife Shirley, Alyre was predeceased by his parents, Angus and Lucille (Gallant) Doucette; and brothers Oswald and Louis. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538, Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, from 6 to 9 p.m. The Cymbria Lions Club will hold a service of remembrance prior to the visitation at 5:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
