It is with the greatest of sadness that we, the family of Garry Martin Boland of Outer Cove, announce his sudden, tragic passing on February 18, 2017 at the age of 57 years. He leaves behind in mourning, his loving wife of 35 years (who he loved since the first time he saw her), Brenda Boland (Whitty). Garry was a proud father of his three children who, along with their partners, are also mourning his loss: Corey Boland and Kate Shore; Tracey Boland and Stephen Carroll; Curtis Boland and Katie Yetman. He was a selfless provider and would quite literally give the shirt off his back to his family - thank you for everything, Dad. The light and joy of his life were his three grandchildren who will miss their Poppy dearly: Stokesley Rose Boland, Aidan Garry Elliot Boland and William Michael Boland. Garry will be sadly missed by his loving mother, Dorothy Boland (Nugent), as well as his sisters Beverley Greeley (Humberto) and Louise Summers (Donnie) along with their families. He is predeceased by his father, Martin Boland, brother, William (Billy) Boland, infant brother, and mother-in-law Grace Whitty. Garry will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, as well as many friends and his co-workers from the Hibernia platform from which he retired in June 2016 after almost 20 years of service. Garry is resting at Caul's Funeral Home in Torbay on Wednesday from 12 noon - 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.. His funeral service will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Outer Cove on Friday, February 25, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. Cremation will follow. The family gratefully accepts flowers or donations may be made in his name to the Health Care Foundation.
