Passed away peacefully at Chancellor Park Nursing Home on February 20th, 2017, Vera Violet Hodder, age 89 years. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Fannie Mercer and her siblings Doris Lundberg, Eva Taylor, Florence Evans, Harold and Harris Mercer. Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories, her husband Morley; brother Charles (Ellen); sisters-in-law Janet Mercer and Lorraine Cheverie; brothers-in-law Eric Hodder and Charles Taylor; and a number of nieces and nephews, especially Valerie and Ian Hodder. The family wish to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the nursing and medical staff on 3 West at Chancellor Park for their excellent care and compassion. Many thanks to her close friends for their love and support: Marguerite Mehaney, Ruth Howse and Rose MacDonald Drover; and to Shirley Downey who has been a wonderful neighbor and friend to Vera and Morley at Windermere Condominiums. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may visit the family at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday, February 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24th at 11 a.m. from Gower Street United Church.
